Immortality is an interactive film video game developed by Sam Barlow and published by Half Mermaid Productions. 
 

The game was released for Windows and Xbox Series X/S in August 2022.

The game is based on the fictional model turned actress Marissa Marcel (Manon Gage) who had starred in three movies from 1968, 1970, and 1999 but which were never released. 

Marcel has since gone missing, creating a mystery for the player to solve. 

In the same manner as Barlow's prior works Her Story and Telling Lies, Immortality incorporates the use of full-motion video for the player to piece together Marcel's fate.

 

  1. Saints Row

Saints Row is an action-adventure video game developed by Volition and published by Deep Silver.

It is a reboot of the Saints Row series, and the fifth main installment, following 2013's Saints Row IV.

It was released on August 23, 2022 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Google Stadia. 

Set within the fictional city of Set within the fictional city of Santo Ileso, loosely based on Las Vegas, the single-player story follows a group of four friends who start their own outlaw gang called The Saints, which they subsequently expand by seizing power from other criminal organizations in the city.

The game is played from a third-person perspective where players control the gang’s leader, nicknamed “the Boss”. 

Players can fight enemies using a variety of firearms and other tools, and call in non-playable gang members to assist them. 

 

  1. Horizon Forbidden West

Horizon Forbidden West is a 2022 action role-playing game developed by Guerrilla Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. 

The sequel to 2017's Horizon Zero Dawn, the game is set in a post-apocalyptic version of the Western United States recovering from the aftermath of an extinction event caused by a rogue robot swarm. 

The player can explore the open world and complete quests using ranged and melee weapons against hostile machine creatures.

Horizon Forbidden West was released on February 18, 2022, for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. 

 

  1. Stray

Stray is a 2022 adventure video game developed by BlueTwelve Studio and published by Annapurna Interactive. 

The story follows a stray cat who falls into a walled city populated by robots, machines, and mutant bacteria, and sets out to return to the surface with the help of a drone companion called B-12. 

The game is presented through a third-person perspective. 

The player traverses by leaping across platforms and climbing up obstacles, and can interact with the environment to open new paths. 

Using B-12, they can store items found throughout the world, and hack into technology to solve puzzles necessary to progress the narrative. 

Throughout the game, the player must evade the antagonistic Zurks and Sentinels, both of whom will attempt to kill them.

 

  1. MultiVersus

MultiVersus is a free-to-play crossover fighting game developed by Player First Games and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. 

The game features various characters within the Warner Bros. Discovery catalog, including those from Warner Bros., DC Comics, HBO, Turner Entertainment, and Cartoon Network. 

The title launched for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Announced in November 2021 after online rumors and leaks, early access and open beta versions of the game released in July 2022.

 

  1. Monster Hunter Rise

Monster Hunter Rise is an action role-playing game developed and published by Capcom for the Nintendo Switch. 

It is the sixth mainline installment in the Monster Hunter series and was released worldwide in March 2021. 

A Microsoft Windows version was released in January 2022.

As with previous Monster Hunter titles, Monster Hunter Rise has the player take the role of a Hunter, tasked with killing or capturing large monsters using a variety of weapons, tools, and environmental features to damage and weaken them while surviving their attacks. 

Successful completion of the offered quests provides loot, typically in the form of various monster parts from the monster, which are used to forge new armor and weapons that can be used to take on more powerful monsters, forming the series' notable core loop. 

Several of the series' monsters return along with a host of new monsters developed for Rise.

 

  1. V Rising

V Rising is an upcoming survival game developed by Stunlock Studios. 

First announced on May 5, 2021 for Windows, it entered early access on May 17, 2022.

V Rising is a settlement building and survival game set in an open world. 

The player acts as a newly-resurrected vampire. The player gathers materials in order to craft more advanced materials and items, in order to build a personal castle. 

They then must defeat enemies to unlock new abilities and technologies. 

The blood level of the vampire must also be maintained, by feeding on victims.

 

  1. Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is a 2022 Lego-themed action-adventure game developed by Traveller's Tales and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. 

It is the sixth entry in TT Games' Lego Star Wars series of video games and the successor to 2016's Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga was released on 5 April 2022 for Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Unlike most Lego video games in which players have to advance through the story in a linear order, players can choose to start the game from any of the three Skywalker Saga trilogies and complete them in any order they wish. 

Each episode contains five main story missions, totaling 45 levels, as opposed to six levels in previous games. 

There are also short pre-levels between the five main levels that advance the story forward but do not feature collectibles like minikits or True Jedi. 

Combat has been revamped from previous titles, such as lightsaber wielders now using a variety of combos with light attacks, heavy attacks, and Force moves, and blaster characters having an over-the-shoulder camera. 

 

  1. Tiny Tina's Wonderland

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is an action role-playing first-person shooter video game developed by Gearbox Software and published by 2K. 

As a spin-off in the Borderlands series and a sequel to Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep, the game is set within the world of a fantasy-themed tabletop role-playing game. 

The game was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S in March 2022

Similar to its predecessors, the game is a first-person shooter with elements of an action role-playing game. 

The game can be played solo or with up to three other players in online or local split-screen multiplayer. 

The game is set within the world of a fantasy-themed tabletop role-playing game. 

The game features an overworld, which is used by the playable characters to traverse the various locations in the game. 

There are random combat encounters and quests that can only be completed in the overworld.

 

  1. Ghostwire: Tokyo

Ghostwire: Tokyo is a 2022 action-adventure game developed by Tango Gameworks and published by Bethesda Softworks. 

The game was released worldwide on March 25, 2022 as a one-year timed exclusive for PlayStation 5 and Windows.

Ghostwire: Tokyo is an action-adventure game played from a first-person perspective. 

The player can use various psychic and paranormal abilities to defeat the ghosts and spirits haunting Tokyo. 

Combat director Shinichiro Hara described the combat as "karate meets magic", as the player character utilizes hand movements inspired by Kuji-kiri hand gestures to cast spells. 

When an enemy loses most of their health, its core is exposed and the player can use takedown moves to destroy it. 

By defeating these spirits and collecting Yokai, the character will collect spirit points and resources used to upgrade their abilities.
